Alfabeto de Plantas is an illustrated book based on a project that teacher Bruna Ester Yamashita realized with her students. They created a vegetable garden at the school, where plants ranging from the letter A to the letter Z of the alphabet were planted.

To create the illustrations, I looked for inspiration in the faces of the students I had seen in the project pictures, in the colors of the uniforms, in the images of plants growing in the school’s vegetable garden. I wanted the story to have a life of its own, but also to connect with the experience that motivated it to exist in the form of a book.
